Anyway, I needed an alternative. I considered going with a new battery, I called my dealer and they were charging around $4,000. I couldn't afford that. I considered Green Bean batteries, since it's cheap $1500 lifetime warranty. BUT there's a catch.
Maybe a little more denser, but the charging system would need to be recalibrated for fit the new battery. The prime battery sits partly below the floor so structurally it's impossible to put it into the hybrid. I'm hoping that in 10 years the prime battery will be a little denser to allow up to 100 mile ranges. 2. r/rav4club.
The Toyota Avalon Hybrid has the benefits of using both gasoline and a battery for power. If You begin to experience symptoms of a bad battery, including engine stalling, cranking without start, or no response when attempting to turn on the ignition, You may need to replace it. If You want to buy a new one, You can expect to pay between $41 and $313 for the part alone. If You want to have it

The hybrid system will turn the engine on if recharge is needed or the warmup the engine for efficiency and keep everything lubricated. Only the Prime has an electric heat pump for cabin heat. It only works above 15F. It does run the engine in the winter to produce heat.
The major benefit of the hybrids is when you average more "city" miles. Current national average for gas is $3.25 per gallon. But lets use $4.00 per gallon; Rav4 Hybrid: Assuming 40 MPG combined average: 100,000 miles = 2,500 gallons of gas * $4.00 per gallon = $10,000 spent in gas.
When you do buy don't go EV or hybrid they're more expensive in the long run to you and nobody wants used hybrids so the resale is garbage. No EV or Hybrid will last you 20 years without major service to the battery. Your NA corolla will last 30 years with just brakes and oil changes. At the rate you drive it could be here in 60 years.
I kind of assumed it would just last forever, relatively speaking. I really like the car, love getting 45-50 mpg average pretty easily. However, I recently heard and then promptly researched and found for myself people saying the hybrid batteries only last around 5-8 years or ~80-100k miles.
IIRC you can replace the battery in a Prius for under $1000 these days and they're warrantied for at least 160,000km, with a good percentage of them lasting multiple times that. For comparisons sake, a Golf needs a DSG service costing that much every 60,000km. You'll do that several times before an equivalent Prius battery needs replacement.
Back in March, I bought a used 2008 Prius for $2200. I anticipated there being issues, but I was nonetheless surprised to see the dreaded Triangle of Death within a month, with my OBD reader showing a P0A80. I did some reading, and figured I should try and fix the hybrid battery. It didn't seem too hard.
You don't mention what trim this car is, So roughly about $260 to replace the 12 volt battery at AutoZone, not including tax. If it's the hybrid battery, that's several thousand dollars. Probably in the neighborhood 4-8 grand, depending on the dealership, If you're playing out of pocket.
Drive Battery FAQs How much do Toyota Camry Hybrid replacement batteries cost? Toyota Camry replacement and upgrade batteries can typically cost anywhere from $1,895.00 to $2,495.00, not including tax, shipping, and installation fees. Where do I purchase a Toyota Camry Hybrid replacement battery?
We have a '08 with around the same miles. The issues encountered have had nothing to do with the hybrid system - replaced the water pump last year for leaking out the weep hole. Replaced the 12 volt battery last year after 6 months of my daughter sitting in the car for an hour or so and listening to the radio on 'accessory'.
*hybrids consist of two drive/power systems - the gas engine and the electric motors/components - more to fail, more to maintain*battery replacement may be necessary as soon as 8 years of ownership (batteries last 8-15 years) and I typically keep my car for 10-12 years.
