I figured as a whip backstab/reposte, they could wrap the neck, and slam the face/back of the head into the ground, and stomp on it, or at least soccer kick it I also can't get a shield in right hand to do an animation other that a mere strike, at least in Demons Souls, it was like the mace for backstab/reposte

lunajenny posted I watched it a few times and noticed that he seems to move to his right a bit before rolling, is this necessary? Sometimes when I try to roll bs something like dark bead I just roll right into the front of them and don't take damage but don't get behind them either, not sure if moving to the right a bit first will stop that from happening.

In DaS1, with DSMFix, KB/M is pretty great for PVP. You can play without lock-on much more effectively and the mix-ups that allows for can give you a certain edge. Because of the limited 4-direction rolling, not locking on gives you a ton more freedom. In both of them, however, you lose a lot when you're locked on.

Havel is the first enemy in the game where you actually have to learn to backstab xD what about any of the black knights? I backed stabbed them like there was no tomorrow x.x I backed stabbed them like there was no tomorrow x.x Don't block, and better yet don't hold any other buttons at the time you try to backstab. Also to riposte you have to parry first, this is done with the L2 button and a shield (you swing the shield a bit).

is my estus flask not shard and i still do not know how to equip it. left click on it (after i select menu and i am in inventory) pop up a menu where i have 5 options: 'use', 'leave', 'discard', 'leave selected', 'discard selected' and only 3 or them are active, if i select 'use' it uses - i do not want it like this, if i selected 'leave selected' when i return to main window there is the backstab is very finicky, i've found. i've had the most luck backstabbing a step to the right of the middle of their back.
